City of Douglasville Spring Cleanup Week 2018

One week during the Spring and Fall, the City of Douglasville picks up large items such as furniture and appliances at no charge.

Accepted Items:

  • Furniture and appliances
  • Old carpet and carpet padding
  • Building materials that have been stored on your property
  • Old fencing materials
  • Tree limbs no larger than 5 feet long or 6 inches in diameter
  • Paint – must be solidified with kitty litter or similar material.

Hunter Park Batting Cages

Batter up! Warmer weather means baseball, and that means players need a place to practice. The batting cages at Hunter Park recently got a face lift with new artificial turf and under padding.

Storm Cleanup

Several inmate work crews helped to clear the debris after strong storms moved through the area on the night/morning of March 19-20, 2018.

 

Getting Ready For Spring Ball

County park inmate work crew getting things ready for spring ball season. They painted inside the concession stand at Bill Arp Park and outside Post Rd Park, and built walls inside a storage building at Fairplay Park.

Snow Debris Cleanup

The snowstorm that brought several inches of snow to Douglas County on December 8th and 9th left a lot of broken branches and other storm debris clogging roads and driveways. Our inmate crews were on hand to help clear limbs and other debris.

Decorations at Deer Lick Park

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Deer Lick Park, thanks to our trusty work crew. They spent time last week decorating the park in preparation for the tree lighting ceremony on December 9th. Festivities start at 3 pm, and the actual lighting of the tree is at 6 pm.
