Welcome, New Deputies

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to congratulate the following Deputies on their graduation from mandate: Johnny Carter, Kelly Myers, and David Wallace. All have been with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for the past year serving either with the Jail Division or Court Services. Welcome, New Hires

Sheriff Pounds and staff would like to welcome our two new jailers, and two newly-minted deputies. Jailers Hood and Peek recently started their shifts in our detention center. Deputies Crumley and Echols have worked in our jail for the past year, and have made it through mandate training. They will now go through our in-house FTO program before going out on patrol.

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to welcome our newest Jailer, Rachel Reynolds. Rachel started in Dispatch, but made the decision to switch to jailer. We’re glad to have her!

Congratulations, Major West

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to congratulate Capt. Lindy West on her recent promotion to Major. She has almost 33 years of service with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, and is the first ever female Major. She was also the first female Captain. Sheriff Pounds and former Sheriff Tommy Waldrop were on hand to change her epaulets.

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to welcome our recent hires and newly-mandated Deputies. Dep. Lee Martin is a familiar face around the sheriff’s office having previously worked with the Douglasville Police Department before moving on to the MARTA PD. We’re glad to have him! Dep. Russell Bonds previously worked in our jail before being sent to mandate. Dep. Katelyn Lovvorn comes to us from Juno, AK. Jailer Terrance Martin is brand new to law enforcement. Welcome, New Hires

Two new hires were sworn in on October 8th, 2018. Willie Clay is our newest jailer and comes to us with experience from the Marietta Youth Detention Center. Billy Wallace is already a familiar face around the office thanks to his years with the Douglasville Police Department, and he will be working in our Patrol Division.

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to welcome two new hires: Jailer A. Joseph and Deputy R. McCusker. Jailer Joseph is a recent graduate of Alexander High School and is hoping to follow in his family’s footsteps. Deputy McCusker comes to us from serving the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office for eight years. We wish them both long, safe, and healthy careers.
