Welcome, New Hires!

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to welcome the following new hires to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office:

  • Nasire Eltayeb, Deputy Sheriff
  • Jake Andrews, Deputy Sheriff Recruit
  • George Rahming, Deputy Sheriff Recruit
  • James Endicott, Jailer
  • Alexa Carroll, Jailer

Deputy Eltayeb has previously completed mandate training and will start our FTO program this week. Deputy Recruits Andrews and Rahming will be going to mandate in the next few weeks. Jailers Endicott and Carroll will also be starting on their new shifts this week. We encourage anyone who has an interest in joining law enforcement to check out our employment page.

 

DCSO Welcomes New Jailers

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to welcome five new jailers to our facility: Shelisia Crawford, Noel Howfield, Briana Maxwell, Khaleem RaJahn, and Kayla Worthan.

Thank You For Your Service

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to thank Officer Zachary Geldmeier for his service with the Army National Guard. He was on active duty in Afghanistan when we held our pinning ceremony last November, and we are glad to have him back. Each veteran, both past and present, received a pin with their branch insignia in recognition of their service to this county. If you are a veteran, we would love to have you come work for us. Congratulations, New Deputies

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to congratulate Deputies Brittney Davis and Darrel Wright on their recent graduation from mandate. Deputy Davis has worked in our jail for the past six years and will be going to our Courthouse staff after she completes our FTO program. Deputy Wright has also been working in the jail for two years. He will be returning to work in the jail after completing our FTO program.

So Long, Steve!

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to acknowledge another recent retiree: Steve Sprouse. He has been with us through 4 sheriffs and with him goes a wealth of investigative knowledge. As he said at his retirement party, “It’s not so much as goodbye as see you later.”

Congratulations, Lt. Lipscomb!

Sheriff Pounds and staff would like to congratulate Sgt. Lipscomb on his promotion to Lieutenant. He will be moving to his new patrol shift Saturday night.

 

We’ll Miss You, Cindy Lou!

It is difficult to express the bond that some people make with those they work closely with for years. After 22 of those years, Cindy West has decided to hang up her uniform and move on to a new adventure called retirement. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office celebrates you, Cindy, for all you have given of yourself to this department, the community and the friends you have made along the way. Dream big, Cindy Lou. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Welcome, New Jailers

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to welcome new jailers: Anna Dawson and Meghan Hampton. Jailer Dawson has experience working with inmates in DeKalb County, and Jailer Hampton comes to us from the Department of Juvenile Justice. Congratulations, Sergeant Harris

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to congratulate Dep. Melissa Harris on her recent promotion to Sergeant. She will be moving from Court Services to one of our two Jail night shifts.

Welcome, New Jailer

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office would like to welcome Jailer Croft. She has been with us since February as a Dispatcher, and will be starting back in the jail this week.

Welcome, New Deputies

Sheriff Tim Pounds and staff would like to congratulate the following Deputies on their graduation from mandate: Johnny Carter, Kelly Myers, and David Wallace. All have been with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for the past year serving either with the Jail Division or Court Services.
