The Transport Division is responsible for the safe and secure transportation of inmates to and from the Douglas County detention facility. Typical destinations include medical facilities and other detention and correctional facilities throughout the county, state, and country. The fleet for the Transport Division involves a number of vehicles, specialized for the transport of inmates. At their disposal are vans and cage buses. Occupancy in a vehicle varies from one to 40.
In 2018, a total of 3,226 inmates were transported. Of these, 82 inmates were extradited from out of state. A total of 237,727 miles were traveled for the year.
