Rotary Club Donation for Education Technology

On Monday 11-02-20 Rotary Club of Douglas County and Rotarian Joe Williams, a member of the @DouglasCountyRotaryClub who is also an Investigator with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office; presented a $10,000.00 check to The Douglas County Board of Education.

In August, schools began issuing Chromebooks to students so that they would be prepared for online learning on the first day of school. As part of the One-to-One Technology initiative, a commitment from each student to pay a $25 technology fee to cover minor repairs, replacement of batteries and other costs associated with electronic devices.

The Rotary Club of Douglas County knew that there would be families unable to pay the $25 fee, and we wanted to help. Education is a focus of Rotary, and we know the importance of having the tools for students to learn. The $10,000.00 donation will cover the technology fees for 400 students.
