It was our pleasure to host the quarterly Metro Atlanta Reentry Coalition meeting here at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office on June 18th 2019. This coalition aims to provide the guidance and support required for someone reentering society so they can become a positive member of society and avoids recidivism. The Metro counties meet quarterly and network with each other regarding services and resources that could help our reentry participants.
Sheriff Tim Pounds opened up the meeting with a welcome and introduction of everyone attending the meeting. Winston Smith Jr., a certified life coach, volunteers every week to coach our male reentry participants spoke about his involvement in the reentry program.
