Sheriff Tim Pounds Welcomes New K9 Deputy

K9 Neo is the newest addition to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. He is a seventeen-month-old Belgian Malinois from Poland, and will be working on the Felony Interception Narcotics Detection (FIND) Unit. K9 Neo came to us in November 2017 as a “green” dog without any formal training. Sgt. Ryan Cadwell, who previously handled retired K9 Boogie, is both K9 Neo’s trainer as well as handler. K9 Neo’s skills include narcotics detection, tracking and apprehension, handler protection, and evidence recovery. K9 Neo was utilized on his first night of service for a search of a vehicle which resulted in a drug arrest.
