Court Updates Regarding COVID-19

We are experiencing a lot of people still coming to the courthouse unnecessarily. The Douglas County courthouse is closed to the general public with the exception of the judicial system. Although the courts are still running and you may legally file with the various clerk’s offices it is being discouraged.

“Under the order of Chief Justice Harold D. Melton, all filing deadlines for cases in Georgia have been postponed through April 13, 2020. The judges therefore encourage those who would otherwise come to the courthouse in person to wait until after that date.”

More information about the court dates can be found at celebratedouglascounty.com or on facebook.com/douglas.county.happenings.
