The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office will be joining the #9PMRoutine social media campaign on September 1st. For the entire month, we will be reminding our social media followers each night to secure their homes and valuables. We encourage everyone to get into the habit of removing things like wallets and weapons from vehicles, making sure the vehicle is locked, closing and locking any gates to your property, that doors to your residence are also locked, and to turn on exterior lights before going to bed for the night. It is our goal to deter easy-target crimes such as entering autos, and we hope that county residents get in the habit of locking up before turning in for the evening.
