15th Annual Blake Gammill Run

This year’s Gammill Run will be held Saturday, May 18th at Boundary Waters Park. Unlike in years past, this time it will be an evening/night run. The 1-mile run/walk starts at 7:00pm, and the 5k run/walk begins at 7:30pm. Everyone is invited to the event, even if they’re not participating in the run/walk. Registration on the run can be done online at www.active.com, or a copy of the registration form can be downloaded and sent to the Douglas County Rogue Runners. Preregistration is open until May 8th. The fees are $15 for the 1-mile run/walk and $22 for the 5k. Fees increase $5 if registered after May 8th. This is a rain-or-shine event, and the fees are not refundable. All preregistered participants will receive one quality, wicking technical t-shirt (adult sizes only, youth sizes cotton). Late and race day registrants are not guaranteed a t-shirt. Awards will be given to the 5K overall male & female, masters male & female, and top 3 male & female in 15 age groups from 10 & under through 75+. Ribbons will be awarded to all 1-mile finishers. The course is a combination of roads, grass and trails. For the safety of everyone, no pets, headphones or strollers are permitted on the course. For questions, email Sgt. Kirby at skirby@sheriff.douglas.ga.us.

The proceeds will benefit the Douglas County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT). This race is in honor of Officer Blake Gammill, Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy who was killed in the line of duty February 24, 2005.
