There are numerous treatment options available for those people that are looking for help with a Methamphetamine addiction. The key to anyone’s recovery is their willingness to admit that there is a problem and to begin to find the treatment program that will help them beat the problem. If you have used Methamphetamine one time you may have a problem and not even know it. The following is a list of the treatment options that are available in Douglas County. Many of these treatment centers have a person that is active on the Douglas County Methamphetamine Task Force. Please don’t hesitate to call one of these people. Many of these organizations are free of charge to those seeking help.

Ridgeview Institute

Ridgeview Institute, located at 3995 South Cobb Drive, Smyrna, Georgia, is a private, not-for-profit provider of psychiatric and addiction treatment, including inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment options for youth, young adults, adults, and seniors. Reformers Unanimous

Reformers Unanimous is located in Douglasville, Georgia, but is a national organization; it is based at Kingsway Baptist Church. They are a faith based program that treats adults with in patient and out patient options. Jeff Andrews is the director of the program here in Douglasville and an active member of the task force. He can be reached at 770.401.4687. The program has a meeting every Wednesday night from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM and nursery services are provided. Teen Challenge

Teen Challenge is located in Douglasville and is a national recognized treatment program. The center is located near downtown Douglasville. Teen Challenge is a complete resource for youth and their families to find help with life controlling problems. Cobb/Douglas CSB

The Cobb County Community Services Board and the Douglas County Community Services Board are public agencies created by state law to provide mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services. The service areas are Cobb County and Douglas County, Georgia. The agency provided support to over 14,000 people in 2004. The majority of funds utilized to provide services are generated through a contract with the State of Georgia, Medicaid and Medicare revenue, Cobb County, Douglas County, Vocational Rehabilitation, grants, and private pay. The Stabilization Unit is a short term residential program to provide brief treatment for psychiatric problems and detoxification from drugs and alcohol. The goal of the Stabilization Unit is to get consumers to a stable condition medically and psychologically and to assist them through their crisis situation. A focus of treatment is referral and linkage to programs in mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse.

Children and Adolescents: Cobb/Douglas County CSB is pleased to offer a program for children and adolescents called Next Steps. The Next Steps program provides a comprehensive array of mental health and substance abuse services for children and adolescents. Services are child centered and family focused with an emphasis on individualized and accessible treatment for young people and their families. Inner Harbour

Inner Harbour is a private not-for-profit organization specializing in the treatment of youth and families for over forty years.

Inner Harbour offers an array of programs designed to help children and adolescents (6-18) with emotional and behavioral problems overcome their challenges and live successfully. Programs include: community based after school programs, an emergency shelter, an outpatient center for all ages, group homes, juvenile rehabilitation programs and intensive residential programs. In addition, Inner Harbour sponsors monthly workshops for professionals from all over the southeast who work in this field. Since our creation forty years ago, we have gone beyond conventional treatments to offer young people an experiential, activity-based therapeutic program. We have been pioneers in our field. Crystal Meth Anonymous

Crystal Meth Anonymous or C.M.A. is a local 12 step support group that is based on the 12 steps and principles of A.A. All of the meetings will be “open” meetings which mean that everyone is welcome to attend. There are no dues or fees. We are simply Meth addicts who are trying to help each other get well. C.M.A meets downstairs in the “old” Douglas Co. courthouse on Church Street in Room # 108 at 7:30 PM every Tuesday and Saturday. Tanner Behavioral Health Services

Tanner Behavioral Health Services offers a FREE, confidential assessment to children, adolescents, and adults seeking help with emotional, behavioral and substance abuse problems. Each patient is assessed to determine what treatment option is best and given referrals to follow up with his or her appropriate level of care.
