To receive the Field Training Officer certification incentive, the officer must possess the P.O.S.T. Field Training Officer Certification, have a minimum of 3 years’ experience with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, be in a position designated to train recruits/new officers, be recommended by their supervisor and be approved by the Field Training Officer Coordinator and Chief Deputy to be an FTO.

To receive the Instructor certification incentive, the officer must possess the P.O.S.T. Instructor Certification, successfully complete the new employee probationary period and maintain a minimum of 24 hours of P.O.S.T. approved instructor training every year (Captains and above excluded).

To receive the Intermediate certification incentive, the officer must possess the P.O.S.T. Intermediate Certification and successfully complete the new employee probationary period.

To receive the Advanced certification incentive, the officer must possess the P.O.S.T. Advanced Certification and successfully complete the new employee probationary period.

To receive the Supervisor certification incentive, the officer must be a supervisor for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office for a minimum period of 1 year and possess the P.O.S.T. Supervision Certification.

To receive the Management certification incentive, the officer must be a Captain or higher rank and possess the P.O.S.T. Management Certification.
