The Douglas County Jail operates an Inmate Work Program designed to provide residents of Douglas County with a valuable resource at little cost to taxpayers. Inmates are given an opportunity to provide services to the community instead of simply being a tax burden on an already strained Criminal Justice System.
Inmates allowed to participate in the Inmate Work Program are thoroughly screened prior to acceptance and may not have any charge or history of violent behavior in order to be considered. The program is a winning combination for both the county and the inmates. The program operates under a strict set of rules and the hard work associated with the program is an excellent tool in rehabilitation.
