Training Division

The Training Division staff is committed to providing the finest basic, in-service, advanced, and specialized law enforcement training to all employees of the Sheriff’s Office. Instructors partner with other city, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies as well.

Our proactive approach to training through hands-on, force-on-force, and simulation training better prepares the law enforcement officers with the knowledge and skills to provide protection and service to their communities, while affording dignity and respect to every individual.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Training Division consists of five full-time, well-trained instructors with an additional 21 P.O.S.T. certified general instructors, some of whom hold multiple specialty instructor certifications. The Training Division effectively trains and prepares all personnel for modern law enforcement challenges. All staff members are encouraged to serve as positive influences in their communities and professions.
