Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team

 

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team was formed in 2002. The highly trained deputies respond to various high risk calls for service, including but not limited to: barricaded suspects, hostage situations, high risk warrants service, etc.

The mission of the Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team is to provide a highly trained and skilled tactical team as a resource for the county in critical incidents in order to reduce the risk of injury or loss of life to citizens, deputies, and suspects. The unit is comprised of personnel serving in various roles such as entry team, designated marksman, explosive breachers, and negotiators. The team is supported by several logistical personnel assisting with vehicles, equipment, and tactical electronics.
