Records Division
The purpose of this unit is to maintain jail records, departmental investigative reports, criminal history investigation, traffic citations, served warrants and juvenile files and transmit appropriate paperwork to the court systems for prosecution.
The division operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am until 5:00 p.m.

Background checks $20.00 (must be requested before 4:30pm)

Record Expungement $25.00 (must be requested before 4:30pm)

Open Records Request 1st 15 minutes are free. After that, the cost is $19.72 per hour and $.10 per page copy.
Please fill out this request form and email it to records@sheriff.douglas.ga.us.
**Our Records Division will not accept any payments after 4:30pm**

Credit card payments must be done in person. A $2.00 convenience fee will be collected at time of payment. Only Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards are accepted.

Any sex offenders that need to register must pay $25.00 cash in person.
Criminal Background Checks
Criminal background checks are simply a review of an individual to determine any criminal activity. Often times, an employer may require a criminal background check for employment purposes.
In order to obtain a criminal background check, you must:

Appear in person at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office Records Division

Provide a government issued picture identification; a Social Security Card is not acceptable

You must provide your name, date of birth, sex, race, and Social Security Number
Book-In Photo Affidavit Form
Inmate arrest bookin photo/mug shots are protected under O.C.G.A. 35-1-19.

Placed in a publication or posted to a website or transferred to any person to be placed in a publication or posted to a website; if

Removal or deletion of such arrest booking photograph from such publication or website requires the payment of a fee or other consideration.
Making a false statement in connection with receiving this photograph is a misdemeanor and shall be guilty of a violation of O.C.G.A. 16-10-20 of the Georgia Criminal Code.
