Suspects Arrested in Connection with July 4th Holiday Crimes
Over the July 4th weekend in the area of Lee Road and Highway 92 there were several burglaries, along with several entering autos and car thefts. Through video surveillance, investigators were able to identify a group of individuals responsible for many of these crimes.

While trying to identify the individuals there was an additional burglary on Soaring Drive on 070715, where three males were observed exiting the house after forcing entry into the house. Two out of the three of these individuals were arrested after a search of the area. Levy Brown and Michael Teal were arrested for the Burglary. Michael Teal was apprehended after he ran and dropped a gun he was in possession of while committing the Burglary. These two individuals were identified as being involved in the series of crimes over the previous weekend.

While searching for the third individual involved in the burglary, investigators made contact with a 15-year-old juvenile who was in possession of items taken in the July 4th weekend crimes. He had also been identified as being on the video surveillance at the Burglary at 2741 Fairburn Road, where he was armed with a gun during this burglary.

Later in the evening of 070715, a search warrant was executed at 4437 Sunflower Drive, Douglasville, Georgia. At this house deputies found several items of stolen property linking a 16-year-old juvenile to the crimes that occurred over the July 4th weekend. There was also violation of The Georgia Controlled Substances Act located inside the residence.

While interviewing the individuals we had in custody, we learned that three out of the four individuals were either self- proclaimed street gang members or already documented street gang members. This was further confirmed by articles of clothing the individuals were in possession of or seen wearing in video surveillance. One of the individuals acting had the gang's name tattooed on him.

Because of the investigations, investigators were able to charge Levy Brown, Michael Teal, and two juveniles with the crime spree over the July 4th weekend. The individuals are charged with four Burglaries, multiple entering autos, weapons charges, gang charges, RICO (Racketeering Influenced and Corrupt Organizations), Motor Vehicle theft, Theft by Receiving, and alcohol violations.

The two adults are currently in Douglas County Jail with no bond and the two juveniles are being help in regions Youth Detention Centers in the Metro Atlanta area.
