Crime Suppression Unit (C.S.U.)In 2005, Sheriff Phil Miller started the Crime Suppression Unit (C.S.U.) for the purpose of concentrated patrols in Douglas County for deterring crime and arresting criminals. This is done through the use of aggressive traffic enforcement, road checks, and at times utilizing unmarked vehicles for stakeouts. The C.S.U. is a high visibility traffic unit consisting of five Deputies. They are under the supervision of the Traffic Commander in the Uniform Patrol Division. The C.S.U. has been directly responsible for the arrests and convictions of hundreds of criminals, drug seizures, stolen property recoveries, and the seizures of illegal weapons. This has resulted in making Douglas County a safer place to live and work.
